FACC was formed in 1972 by a fellow Municipal Clerk who needed assistance and found that a state organization did not exist for our profession. Our vision, goals and objectives have been materialized and established as a result of the tremendous leaders to date who gave willingly and unselfishly to FACC. Now, we stand mightily as a 500+ member organization representing Florida's 411 municipalities. It is indeed an honor and a privilege to participate and contribute to such an amazing organization of colleagues. Our theme for this year is "Unity: Oneness of Purpose". Unity is not uniformity or sameness. It is not everyone looking just alike. Unity is moving in the same direction due to alignment with FACC's vision to achieve our goals. It is bigger than individual preferences or agendas.Understanding our purpose and vision is what increases motivation and movement towards achieving our goals.The FACC Board of Directors and our staff, FACC Executive Director Linda Bridges and her team, are in position and on one accord to serve our organization. This year will be an exciting and challenging one as we all join our individual talents, experience, expertise and knowledge to focus on further growth and development of our organization as an excellent, veritable resource. FACC exists to promote our profession and provide quality, pertinent education to our members.  We will continue to honor and sustain this purpose and mission by championing marketing efforts, educational programs and methods to increase our brand.  We will do this by development of a framework that invokes creativity and innovation that appeal to and reflect our municipal and organizational diversity utilizing FACC's strategic plan.There are varied opportunities for your participation. We desire and encourage you to get involved, share your "essence" and leave your mark with FACC! The Florida Association of City Clerks (FACC) is a professional association comprised of more than 500 municipal clerks representing Florida’s cities, towns, villages and special districts. Membership in FACC provides an array of benefits including extensive and superior educational offerings through various outlets including state academies, localized district mini-academies, webinars and Athenian dialogues.FACC prides itself on providing high-quality education and networking outlets to ensure our members have the proper knowledge and backgrounds necessary to serve their communities. Through coordinated relationships with the John Scott Dailey Florida Institute of Government, Florida State University’s Center for Florida Local Government Excellence, and the Florida League of Cities, we offer a well-balanced blend of sessions to remain on top of ever changing laws and workplace practices. These sessions include legislative, elections, ethics, structure of local government, governmental accounting, records management and sunshine law, just to name a few. This wide array of learning tools is used toward obtaining the industry respected Certified Municipal Clerk (CMC) and Master Municipal Clerk (MMC) designations through IIMC (International Institute of Municipal Clerks). FACC is dedicated to providing life-long learning opportunities that foster a spirit of mutual professional development for clerks Florida-wide.Another benefit of FACC membership is our discussion forum. This communication outlet allows members to post questions, survey other cities regarding pertinent topics happening within their cities, and receive feedback. It is an exceptional networking and survey tool.To remain knowledgeable on relevant topics and issues affecting Florida’s cities, FACC members are actively involved in a variety of association committees such as Professional Education, Legislative, Mentoring, By-laws and Manual Revisions, Investment, Membership, and Resolutions. Additionally, we remain involved in state and national initiatives by serving on the Florida League of Cities Legislative Policy Committees and IIMC’s Legislative and International Relations Committee.FACC members are dedicated, high-level professionals, who often serve on the senior management team. They are engaged, knowledgeable and valued members of our local governmental communities.
